Services

Anne is available for staff trainings and coaching, family consultations and individual questions. She is especially interested in encouraging  churches to become centers of information and assistance in their communities. She will travel to any community that would like to learn how to create moments of joy and meaning in the lives of those living with dementia, their loved ones and care partners.

Ponder Anew services include

For Organizations

Staff training for any organizations -- such as assisted living residences, medical offices, recreation groups -- that serve people living with dementia.

For Individuals

Individual consultation to assist families and care partners with difficult situations

For Groups

Training and development of groups, which will then be equipped to provide assistance and resources in their communities

During this time of cancellations and uncertainty due to the coronavirus, I am available by phone and email only.

Appointments available onsite: I would be honored to come to you, wherever you are. For individuals, I am also available by phone or video chat.

+ Why Ponder Anew?

The name comes from the familiar hymn, “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation.” The third verse contains the line, “Ponder anew what the Almighty can do.” Let us “Think Again,” creating new ways to accompany those living with dementia by learning about the diseases, responding instead of reacting, and practicing Teepa snow’s A Positive Approach to Care techniques!

From a broader perspective: what would happen if congregations, clubs, and organizations chose to offer this transformational work to their communities? Your congregation would be recognized as a valuable member of the community! Ponder Anew is here to help you!

+ Who is Teepa Snow?

Teepa Snow has worked in the field for over 40 years, both assisting elders living with dementia and learning from them. Rather than accept the medical model of progressive decline, she has developed A Positive Approach to Care, a creative, loving way of accompanying people on the long journey through brain change.

+ What is the purpose of A Positive Approach to Care?

While dealing with someone with dementia is always challenging, our point of view as care partners matters! We know our loved ones better than anyone else, so we already have a lot of information we can put to use. Rather than focus on what someone can’t do, A Positive Approach to Care teaches us to discover and engage the parts of the brain that are still accessible in order to create moments of meaning and joy, of true connection.

+ What do the clasped hands on the homepage mean?

The clasped hands demonstrate Teepa Snow’s “hand-under-hand” connection, which is the basis for the support technique.

“Do not be afraid.”

Matthew 28:10
